Cancellation Insurance |
Group Getaways offers trip cancellation insurance for all tours. Because we know that unforeseen things happen and sometimes you have to cancel, we offer the insurance to protect your losses. The policy we offer is less expensive than most because it is a "motor coach" policy. Even though they do cover some medical expenses, emergency medical transportation, 24 hour assistance, baggage, and baggage delay, the highest protection coverage is for the trip cost. Your medical insurance does not cover the loss of the price of the tour. This protection policy does. You must meet the guidelines of the policy in order to get reimbursed. It does not cover for all reasons. It must be for "covered" reasons. Most cancellations are due to medical reasons of the traveling participant or family member. With proper documentation you will get reimbursed for the price of the tour. This protection policy covers pre-existing medical conditions as long as you purchase the policy with deposit and you are actually able to travel at the time you made your reservation. If you purchase insurance after the deposit was made, it will not cover pre-existing conditions. However, it will cover unexpected medical reasons and all other covered reasons. There are many situations that we do not address because Group Getaways is not an insurance company. Only a Travel Guard representative can give you exact information. Group Getaways has a very liberal cancel policy but once you are within the cancellation deadline, only Travel Guard can reimburse your expenses. We cannot stress enough the importance of trip cancellation insurance. It is our hope that you purchase the protection plan and never need to use it rather than not purchase it and wished you had! |
